Superfeet: 2018 Outstanding Philanthropy Corporation

Have you ever heard of a company that gives two paid days to employees to Be the Awesome? Now you have - Superfeet! Please join us in honoring Superfeet exceptional commitment to philanthropy at AFP Advancement Northwest's 2018 National Philanthropy Day luncheon on Thursday, Nov. 1 at The Westin Seattle. Superfeet might be best recognized worldwide for the doctor-recommended insoles and footwear they sell. In the philanthropic world, they are known as an awesome partner and a great place to work.

Here is an excerpt of what one nominator shared about Superfeet's commitment to a philanthropic culture:

"Superfeet’s culture of gratitude and appreciation generates a strong culture of philanthropy across the organization. Beginning in 2013, every year each employee-owner at Superfeet is granted two paid days to ‘Be the Awesome’ and volunteer for a nonprofit they’re passionate about, resulting in over 1,000 hours per year dedicated. This year, Superfeet has augmented its philanthropy by pledging $500 to each employee-owner to give to nonprofit organizations of their choice. Its employee-owners are powerful ambassadors, carrying the mantle of philanthropy out into the community and representing Superfeet with pride, action, and impact.

Superfeet is a 100% employee-owned company, and as they say on their website, dedicated to making a positive difference in the world by providing people the tools for a strong foundation. When not making insoles and footwear that literally provide a strong foundation to stand on, employee-owners volunteer time and 1% of sales to provide people in need access to education, basic needs, activities and a healthy environment – the four foundational ingredients to a healthy future."

Jeff Grey
, the director of outreach, shared with us that Superfeet puts people ahead of profit. The company has been run from day one with very strong core values: Integrity, Responsibility, Respect, Honesty, Fairness, and Innovation. Superfeet has eight national charities they support annually and about 35 in Whatcom County. They are thrilled to be recognized.
