Symposium on Major Gifts

Advancement Northwest’s first annual Forum on Strategic Fundraising. This will be our only major professional development event of the year. This two-day conference will blend the most in-depth and intensive events in our history – our annual Winter and Spring Conferences and Symposium on Major Gifts – into two days of active learning, deep discussions and inspired networking.

8th annual Symposium on Major Gifts
September 18, 2015
Seattle Marriott Waterfront

Thank you to all of the attendees and sponsors that joined us for the 8th Annual Symposium on the Major Gifts!
We hope that you came away feeling inspired and re-energized.

After decades of research and seminal reports like UnderDeveloped: A National Study of Challenges Facing Nonprofit Fundraising, we know what inspires transformational major gifts: an environment that values and supports big visions of impact, authentic donor engagement, proof of results (and honesty with failures) and unwavering leadership. Another key: when an organization’s mission, programs, financing, and fundraising are all aligned.

We believe that the Northwest can be a national leader in inspiring every nonprofit organization to embrace this transformational view of fundraising. It’s time to stop doing what doesn’t work and start systematically doing what does work.

Our 8th annual Symposium on Major Gifts featured:

  • INSPIRING THOUGHT LEADERS Richard Perry and Jeff Schreifels, authors of It’s Not Just About the Money: How to Build Authentic Major Donor Relationships, a fantastically insightful book that everyone attending the Symposium will get to take home!
  • THE LATEST RESEARCH from Marla Cornelius of CompassPoint Nonprofit Services and Linda Wood of the Evelyn and Walter Haas Jr. Fund, who will discuss their follow-up research to the national UnderDeveloped report and highlight how several organizations have succeeded in creating an environment for major gifts.
  • INSIGHT ALL DAY, with many opportunities to meet and learn from your peers in the Northwest.

Attendee testimonials:
